The extension subject program “Master of Education in Latin” at Heidelberg University lasts four semesters. The goal of the program is to study ancient Latin texts from antiquity. Furthermore, the training introduces students to the Latin language and the entire spectrum of Latin-language literature. The training includes compulsory and elective modules, seminars and lectures. Students learn methods for translating and interpreting Latin texts and linguistic theory and learn how to apply them effectively. Graduates are qualified for a position as research-based teachers.
