The program “Master of Science in Medical Informatics” at Heidelberg University has a duration of four semesters. The sequential course aims to acquire and deepen the knowledge of modern scientific methods used in medical informatics and the competence to adequately and effectively apply these methods. The curriculum includes three compulsory modules and five compulsory elective modules, such as bioinformatics, data science and information management. Students participate in the development of new methods and procedures to solve particular problems and provide a critical evaluation of their effectiveness and potency. Graduates can start offices in research, development and management in industry, hospitals, software companies and universities.
