The consecutive course “Master of Arts in Medieval Studies” at Heidelberg University lasts four semesters. The program draws on examples from Medieval European cultures to give students an in-depth look at the otherness of the modern world and the historical origins of specific structures integral to the development of contemporary society. The training is a research-oriented study, and students develop interdisciplinary skills. The curriculum allows students to choose a specialization in German Studies, History, Art History, Romance Studies or Jewish Literature. Students develop abilities to conduct independent research in the field of medieval studies.
