The program “Bachelor of Arts in Near Eastern Archaeology” at Heidelberg University focuses on the settlement and cultural history of the Ancient Near East. The continuation of the major (50%) is six semesters and is in German and English. The training has a modular structure and is composed of five modules. Students learn the fundamentals of analyzing and documenting archaeological finds and ground monuments and can analyze and evaluate sites and excavations in relation to their dating, development, and function, as well as their political and social significance. Graduates have various career prospects such as project managers, archaeological field technicians, cultural resources managers and other opportunities.
