The study course “Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy” at Heidelberg University has a duration of six semesters. The program includes Theoretical philosophy, which explores the potential and boundaries of knowledge, the structure of consciousness, and the connection between mind and matter; the second area is Practical philosophy, which investigates human action. Students examine the history of philosophy through text from the Antique era, Middle Ages and the modern period. They should complete a different form of assessment at the end of each course or lecture. Graduates of the major 75% have a fundamental knowledge of the various philosophical disciplines and can enrol for a Master's degree.
