The “Master of Education in Philosophy/Ethics” degree program component offered at Heidelberg University has a length of four semesters. The course is aimed at preparing students for a teaching career. The training concentrates on specialized didactics, practical education and education studies. Students acquire fundamental competencies in systematic philosophy or the history of philosophy. The course consists of two main modules, and students select theoretical or methodological main seminar and a seminar on specialized didactics in philosophy. Finally, students have a practical semester in school as well as a specialized didactics block. Graduates are qualified for a teaching profession.
