The study course “Bachelor of Arts in Political Science” at Heidelberg University introduces students to the organization and functioning of political institutions, agencies and processes operating between state and society, the complexion of governance as a function of state policy, and international relations. The major (50%) has a length of six semesters and is conducted in German and English. The course consists of various modules followed by examinations. Students start their studies with Introduction to Political Science and Empirical Methods, and then they select the remaining modules as the sixth semester is the preparation of the bachelor’s thesis. Students get introduced to the history, basic concepts, methods, subfields, and main problems of political science.
