The program “Bachelor of Arts in Prehistory and Protohistory” at Heidelberg University is six semesters long and is in German and some exceptional cases in English. The course is an archaeological discipline that views material culture as a unique historical source of information about societies from the appearance of early man to the modern-day. The program offers a well-represented education that includes methodical access to all eras. Students attend courses with practical and theoretical elements, training archaeological excavations, complete introductory courses, professional seminars and lectures. In the major 50% program, the Bachelor's thesis is written in the student's first main subject.
