The “Bachelor of Arts in Slavic Studies” program at Heidelberg University lasts six semesters and is in German and Slavic languages. The major (50%) focuses on the languages and literature of the Slavic countries in their historical and cultural context. The curriculum offers languages such as Russian, Polish, Czech, Serbo-Croatian and Bulgarian, from which students should choose two to develop. There is another option that students can choose - to study Russian and then select a second language. Students acquire fundamental knowledge and develop analytical, interpretive skills, have critical thinking and gain research competencies. Graduates have broad opportunities for career prospects.
