The consecutive Joint degree “Master of Arts in Transcultural Studies” at Heidelberg University introduces to students the processes of cultural exchange, transformations and entanglements between or within Asia and Europe. The program integrates various methods, theories and research topics from humanities, cultural and social sciences. The course offers the three areas of specialization, the first being Knowledge, Belief and Religion, the second one is Society, Economy and Governance and the final is Visual, Media and Material Culture and students select one of these for in-depth development. The training consists of four semesters and is instructed in English and German. Students expand and deepen their knowledge by gaining different methods, approaches, theories, develop analyzing and communication skills.
