The degree program “Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology” offered by Helmut Schmidt University is a practice-oriented seven-trimester intensive course of studies. The bachelor provides the basic professional qualification of an electrical engineering and information technology engineer. Students learn the basics of the mathematical-physical subjects as well as engineering topics, while the course consists of modules that cover control engineering and electronics which are involved in project works in order to professionally prepare students for the desired engineering profession. During their study, graduates form a deep comprehension in military technology, mechanical and plant engineering, communications and multimedia technology and more. The program consists of compulsory modules, elective modules, the final thesis and an internship. Covered topics are for instance modern technical systems in the fields of energy supply, automotive engineering, shipbuilding, aircraft construction, where students obtain a fundamental knowledge and abilities for further pursuing a higher level of education. The training internship enables the participants not only to develop and expand experience in new areas, but also to derive solutions for new tasks fundamentally and to put them into practice.
