Offered by the Helmut Schmidt University, the “Master of Science in Renewable Energies and Intelligent Grids” is a five-trimester study course focused on the technical aspects of the electrical energy supply and electrical systems. By providing to students the necessary skills and abilities in the modules of Fundamentals of Electrical Machines and Drives, Power Electronics and Electrical Power Supply, the course also teaches how to provide possible solutions to problems in the energy supply due to forecast inaccuracies, steep increases in performance, times of low energy supply and periods of excess electrical energy. Graduates obtain competences to professionally solve tasks in the field of energy supply and electrical systems in the included modules such as Power Electronics for Intelligent Networks, High Voltage Technology and Computer Networks, Nonlinear Control Systems and more.
