The degree program “Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy” offered by the University of Protestant Church Music in Bayreuth focuses on the development of basic pianistic skills, as well as the modes and methods of instrumental instruction. A solo repertoire is created, but also a emphasis is put on the collaborative music such as song accompaniment and chamber music. As the field of “music” is very versatile, the program` s focal point is to prepare students for instrumental pedagogical work across all courses of the area. Moreover, significant material overlaps with the church music program making possible for students to take the church music C examination or to ease their entry into church music studies. The Bachelor` s thesis, which is the final part of the degree program, should be focused on music pedagogical topics form the artistic core field.
