The eight- semester degree program “Bachelor of Music in Protestant Church Music” offered by the University of Protestant Church Music in Bayreuth maintains the well-established “Bayreuth profile” by focusing on the (church) music pedagogical aspect. As main subjects of the program organ and conducting are studied, and there is a opportunity for the students to broaden their knowledge and shape their artistic profiles through subjects like children`s choir conducting, popular music and etc. The central subjects are learnt via individual or small group instructions. The structure of instruction is made in such a way as to allow for one-to-one attention to every student`s strengths and needs. They are taught, according to their current skills. Students gain knowledge in music theory, musicology and other relevant subjects via exercises, seminars and lectures. As a part of their final Bachelor`s project, students can plan and conduct a church service with particular attention to liturgical circumstances.
