HfKM Regensburg – College of Catholic Church Music & Musical Education, founded in 2001, is a state-approved ecclesiastical college seated in Regensburg, Bavaria. Round about 90 students currently receive an education in Music and Music Pedagogy there. The College offers study opportunities at Bachelor’s and Master’s level. The Bachelor courses on offer are “Church Music“, “Conducting/Choir Direction“, “Instrumental Pedagogy Organ“, “Organ“, “Instrumental Pedagogy Harpsichord“, “Harpsichord“, “Instrumental Pedagogy Piano“, “Vocal Pedagogy“, as well as “Instrumental Pedagogy Violin, Viola, Violoncello, Flute, Recorder“. Offered at Master’s level are the study courses “Church Music“, “Conducting/Choir Direction“, “Organ“, “Organ Improvisation“, “Harpsichord“, “Music Pedagogy with an Artistic Core Subject (Organ, Organ Improvisation, Harpsichord and Voice)“, “Music Theory/Church Music Composition“, as well as “Gregorian Musicology/Liturgical Song“ (in preparation). In addition, HfKM Regensburg provides a teacher education program in Music for higher secondary schools. All applicants are required to undergo an aptitutde test.
