The program “Bachelor of Music in Composition” at HfMT Hamburg has a continuation of eight semesters. The course curriculum includes four modules that contain subjects like Ear Training, Instrumentation, Composers, Introductory stylistic basics of music of the 17th-19th centuries, Multimedia, Hearing Analysis and others. Students of this speciality acquire theoretical knowledge combined with practice, which is necessary for the creation of compositions. At the end of the program, students must take their final exam, which takes the form of a public concert. The admission requirement should include at least a completed general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur).
