The eight-semester program “Bachelor of Music in Viola” at HfMT Hamburg provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge. The curriculum consists of subjects like Piano minor, Orchestra/ensemble/set rehearsal, Body-oriented Fundamentals, Chamber Music, General instrumental didactics, Theory, Ear Training, Introduction to stylistic basics, Historical performance practice and others. Students expand on technical skills, rehearsal phases, concerts, mediation projects, and other beneficial abilities learned during the course. At the final of the bachelor, students present their last project in the form of a public concert. One of the mandatory requirements that students must meet is to have a general university qualification.
