The “Bachelor of Music in Protestant Church Music - Classical” program at Hochschule für Kirchenmusik der Evangelischen Kirche von Westfalen has a duration of eight semesters and is taught in German. This program prepares students for a full-time church musician. The course curriculum encompasses several fields of studies which are Instrumental, Cantoral, Music Theoretical, Scientific. Graduates can pursue various positions in the ecclesiastical sphere, but they can also pursue careers outside that sphere. The admission requirements are a previous musical education, certificate of the general university entrance qualification and a membership with a church that contains fellowship with EKD.
