Description
The full-time “Bachelor of Music in Protestant Church Music - Popular” program at Hochschule für Kirchenmusik der Evangelischen Kirche von Westfalen has a duration of eight semesters. The program focuses its church musicians on popular music. Students gain knowledge of leading choirs and bands, accompanying congregational singing, conducting musical projects and concerts, and more abilities. The course curriculum includes Choral and band practice, Composition in jazz, rock, pop, Sound engineering, computer technology, production, Organ literature playing and other subjects. Graduates of this program have a wide range of career opportunities outside the church. The admission requirements are a previous musical education, certificate of the general university entrance qualification and a membership with a church that contains fellowship with EKD.
