Chemistry is the scientific study of elements, their composition, structure and behavior during reactions with other substances and in different environments. The Chemistry degree course’s main aim is to provide students with in-depth knowledge and the skills needed to excel in the field. Chemistry programs usually teach subjects like Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry of Human Diseases, and more. Students learn about current topics and issues in science, recent developments in technology and how to incorporate them into the scientific process. During the program, Chemistry students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through projects, research and work in scientific laboratories. Graduates of a Chemistry degree course have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to interpret data, monitor and observe experiments, work in teams, research and present information and think critically. They are presented with a variety of career opportunities – in medicine, bio- or nanotechnology, forensic science, environmental health and more. They can work as laboratory directors, scientific researchers, analytical chemists, pharmacologists, healthcare scientists, medical product developers, chemical engineers and others.
