The “Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Family Studies’’ study program offered by the Hochschule Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences is a seven-semester program, created by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies. The course is primarily focused on institutional and family education. The early childhood education targets children between 0-14 years. The participants are expected to build a solid educational and methodological background in order to support families and to offer relevant services for children. The educational program has extensive practice opportunities, including internship programs. Upon graduation, the participants can pursue a career in day care centers for children, family centers and family education centers, organizations for open work with children, leisure centers for families, vocational training, further training and continuing education, counselling services, etc.
