The “Master of Arts in Empowerment Studies’’ study program offered by the Hochschule Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences is a three-/six-semester program created by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies. The course is primarily focused on the human rights and the individual empowerment competences. The program is a combination between theoretical knowledge on the social structures, and practical methodology in politics. The course emphasizes on the importance of the human rights and introduces the participants to the required critical reflection they are to develop. Upon graduation, the students can pursue a career in socio-political organisations, international NGOs, organizations involved in development cooperation, etc.
