The “Bachelor of Science in Media Informatics’’ study program offered by the Hochschule Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences is a seven-semester program, created by the Faculty of Media. The course is primarily focused on the fundaments of informatics and natural sciences. The participants are expected to gain knowledge on key theories and practical methods that they are supposed to use in their professional career in the field. The specialization areas in the educational program include web applications, advanced computer graphics, secure IT systems, mixed and virtual reality, multimedia communication, e-business, visualization, media production, digital literacy, corporate learning, 3D modelling, etc. The ideal candidate for the Media Informatics program is to be able to develop software, to perform well both theoretically and practically, to be goal-oriented, to be an abstract thinker, and be able to work independently. Upon graduation, the students can pursue a career in web and media agencies, software developers, IT consulting firms, and IT service providers, etc.
