The “Bachelor of Arts in Retail Design’’ study program offered by the Hochschule Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences is a seven-semesters program, created by the Faculty of Architecture of Peter Behrens School of Arts (PBSA). The course is primarily focused on discovering the design needs of a specific industry. The study program introduces the participants to both - the practical and theoretical aspects of the retail industry. The interdisciplinary approach includes gaining knowledge on history, art, and the market putting the retail design itself into a broader social and cultural context. The participants are expected to develop their skills mastering the digital as well as the analogue design processes. The extensive practice during the course includes a module for working with 3D software programs.
