The “Master of Arts in Social Work and Pedagogy with a Focus on Psychosocial Counselling’’ study program offered by the Hochschule Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences is a three-semester program, created by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies. The course is primarily focused on promoting and strengthening people’s personal and social resources. The interdisciplinary approach combines counselling practice with counselling research. During the educational program the participants are expected to deepen their knowledge on social work and early childhood education as well as on theoretical and practical psychological counselling. Some of the key subjects include Psychosocial and Clinical Diagnostics, Counselling Techniques and Strategies, Personality Development and Ethics, etc. Upon graduation, the students can apply for a career in social psychiatric and socio-therapeutic facilities, private and freelance counselling organizations, education centres, universities and institutes researching psychosocial counselling, etc.
