The “Bachelor of Arts in Social Work/Social Pedagogy’’ study program offered by the Hochschule Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences is a seven- semester (for the full-time option) and twelve-semester program (for the part-time option), created by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies. The course is primarily focused on gaining the appropriate skills and knowledge to be professionally engaged in social work in executive public service. The educational program is extremely practically oriented. The interdisciplinary approach combines subjects like Administration and Organization Studies, Education Science, Law, Social Pedagogy, Political Science, Psychology, Social Medicine, Social Philosophy, Sociology, Culture, Fine Arts, Literature, Music, New Media, Physical Education, Video, etc. Upon graduation, the participants can pursue a career in the areas of clinical social work, family and social counselling, integration in employment, – resocialization, culture and media, etc.
