Tourism is one of the most rapidly developing industries. Hotels and restaurants are a big source of income in the sector. Hotel and Restaurant Management involves the administration of facilities and human resources management. Students gain in-depth knowledge of the history and development of hotel and resort destinations, restaurants and leisure centers, and how to manage them. Subjects usually studied in Hotel and Restaurant Management programs include Hotel and Resort Operations, Strategic Planning for the Hospitality Industry, Food Production, Meal Service Management, Hotel Operations Management, Cost Control, Hospitality Industry Marketing, Legal Aspects of the Hospitality Industry, Customer Experience Management and others. Hotel and Restaurant Management programs provide students with academic knowledge as well as professional experience through study placements, internships and practical projects. They gain managerial, entrepreneurial, problem-solving, critical-thinking, decision-making and analytical skills, which are valued highly by employers. Requirements


This Bachelor's degree program requires a general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or an equal qualification. Alternatively, proof of a master craftsman's certificate, advanced training or completed vocational training with three years of professional experience is required. In addition, a three-month internship in the hotel industry must be completed or proof of at least three months of industry-specific professional experience must be provided. This can be submitted by the beginning of the third semester.

The target group for the Bachelor's degree program includes school graduates who are looking to start a career in the hotel industry and industry experts who would like to gain further academic qualifications with a Bachelor's degree.
