Trainers from all areas of sport not only need to be familiar with techniques, classic training and how the body functions. They also need social, legal and analytical skills. The Bachelor's program “Sports Science and Training” will provide you with all the necessary knowledge and competences to help you design your training in the best possible way. You will learn to respond specifically to the needs of your customers, quickly identify and solve problems and organize yourself independently with data management. This will qualify you to work in various sports facilities or as an self-employed trainer.

The foundation of the degree program is knowledge in the areas of sports medicine, diagnostics and performance management.  Exciting topics such as technique, strength building, endurance, regeneration and sports nutrition build on this. Social skills in customer contact and the correct implementation of competition analyses and data management are also a must. Sports club management, talent development, sports pedagogy and other interesting modules complete your qualification profile. You can also choose your preferred specialization from a wide range of obligatory elective courses.

To be accepted onto the IST degree program, you need a general higher education entrance qualification, entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or an equal qualification. Alternatively, a master craftsman's certificate, advanced training (e.g. as an IHK business administrator) or completed vocational training with three years of professional experience are also valid. You also need proof of an internship or work experience of at least three months. You can provide this proof up to the start of your third semester.

The degree program is for all those who want to develop their athletic skills or pursue a career as a professional trainer. This includes school graduates, competitive athletes, employees from the sports industry, trainers and people changing careers.
