The dual “Bachelor of Science in Ship and Port Operations” program at Jade University of Applied Sciences is with a length of 8 semesters. The degree enables a university course to be combined with vocational training in a company and is structured in such a way that in-company training takes place in individual semesters and job-related lessons continue to be taught in the school blocks of the vocational schools involved. The curriculum explored nautical issues such as dangerous cargo, cargo handling, cargo securing, ship engine operation and passenger safety. Admission requirements include a university entrance qualification, proof of an apprenticeship in a professionally recognized, recognized occupation in the ship or port company and English at least level B1.
