With a total duration of four semesters, the degree program “Master of Science in Anthropology” is provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. The research-oriented course primarily focuses on biological anthropology and diversity. By exploring in depth the population biology of humans in prehistoric times, the prospective students are able to obtain knowledge in primatology, paleoanthropology and population genetics, current molecular genetic and biostatistical methods in a theoretical and experimental-oriented manner. Graduates also learn the both necessary archaeometric techniques and scientific archaeological methods.
