The six-semester study course “Bachelor of Arts in Art History” is provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. During the course, the students will become familiar with a range of different methodological approaches that are constantly evolving and that document the important position of the subject in humanities. By obtaining strong nowledge about the creative processes of individual artists along with the theoretical understanding of art and artists or the question of the function of certain artifacts in the cultural practice of an era, the program also explores the Central, Northern and Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean area, North American continent and the investigation of transcultural exchange processes between Europe, Asia and the American continent.
