Offered by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, the study course “Bachelor of Education in Biology” is with a duration of six semesters. The focus of the course primarily falls on the acquisition of the general basics in the biological core subjects botany, evolutionary biology, human biology, ecology and zoology as well as in the subject didactics of biology and chemistry in the neighboring natural science subject. The students attend lectures, exercises, seminars and excursions while during the prescribed practical courses, observations and experiments in the laboratory the prospective students are able to master their experience.
