The degree course “Bachelor of Science in Biology” is with a total duration of six semesters provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. During their study, the participants have the opportunity to focus on ecology, morphology, systematics, evolution, the developmental biology and neurobiology, structural biology, cell biology and biotechnology. The program deals with living beings and life processes on all organizational levels and their interrelationships - from molecules to cells and multicellular organisms to ecosystems and ultimately the entire biosphere where graduates obtain a wide variety of working methods. The course also imparts strong basic knowledge of biology and related basic sciences such as chemistry, physics and mathematics and specialist knowledge from the areas of specialization.
