With a duration of ten semesters the program “Magister Theologiae of Catholic Theology” is offered by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz.  Catholic theology reflects human dignity and humane society, taking into account the scientific worldview of modern natural and life sciences as well as the beliefs of other religions and conveys the philosophical, theological, basic cultural-historical and ethical knowledge in order to be able to take a time-critical position on current issues of politics, church, religions, the environment, justice, human dignity and questions of humane society, as well as Christian practice and value formation in the face of advancing. Graduates will be able to further develop knowledge contexts in a well-founded manner. In addition to scientific and intellectual training, the course expressly promotes the process of holistic personality development and human maturation.
