Offered by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz the course “Master of Arts in Classical Philology” is with a length of four semesters. The program includes a broad spectrum of topics such as in poetry, the epic, poetry, drama as well as genres such as philosophy, historiography, public speech, state and law, natural sciences and medicine. Graduates obtain important methods such as only textual criticism, the ability to linguistically develop traditional written documents over a long period of time and learn how to classify them in their historical context, to explain them objectively and to assess them.
