The six-semester two-subject degree course “Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature/European Literature” is provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. The both international and interdisciplinary literary course imparts subjects of General and Comparative Literature, English Philology, German Philology, Romance Philology and Slavic Philology along with antiquity and the Renaissance. The aim of the course is to provide to the participants the comprehension in the diversity and context of European literature in a methodological-oriented manner while imparting the theoretical basics of literature as an international cultural phenomenon including both an introduction to the basics of literary text analysis and the teaching of basic literary methods and models introduction to literary theoretical issues such as fiction theory, theory of literary genres and more.
