Description
The four-semester program “Master of Arts in Conference Interpreting” is provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. During the course, the participants are able to obtain the necessary specialist knowledge as well as a large number of cognitive abilities and skills based on the use of strategies and sub-competencies that are researched in interpreting science. Graduates will be professionally trained to quickly understand, analyze, assign and weight text content and information and gain the ability to formulate and present the processed information reliably and appropriately in the target language. The master degree comprises ten modules, divided into five compulsory modules for the B language, three for the C language, one on interpreting and an interdisciplinary elective module while the content consists of important topics such as Simultaneous interpreting, Consecutive interpreting, Interpretation theory, notation systems, booth technology, terminology, professional ethics as well as Cultural studies of the languages of study.
