The state examination program “Dentistry” is with a duration of ten semesters and six months in total and provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. The training consists of studying the areas of dental conservation, conservative dentistry, dentistry, prosthetics, dental surgery and orthodontics. By teaching both practical and social skills, the prospective students also acquire ethical and human qualifications.  During the course, graduates obtain comprehension and knowledge in various subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, biochemistry and molecular biology, microscopic and macroscopic anatomy, physiology, dental propaedeutics and more. The prospective students also attend lectures, internships and courses in the areas of dental prosthetics, orthodontics, oral surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery, tooth preservation, orthodontics, dental, oral and jaw diseases, oral surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, dental radiology and tooth preservation.
