“Bachelor of Arts in Educationial Science” is provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz with a total length of six semesters. It investigates the goals, tasks and methods of education, as well as the reality of eduction in families, school, and social or special educational institutions. By exploring youth work, adult education, social policy, and types of advice and therapy, the students also investigate audience groups, institutions, the social and anthropological requirements for education, as well as the modern media. The course has a developmental or biographical approach with a focus on qualitative research methods and the participants have the opportunity to take part in an internship or spend a semester abroad.
