Provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz the study course “Bachelor of Music in Elementary Music Education” is with a total length of eight semesters. The aim of the bachelor is primarily oriented towards providing students with sufficient pedagogical and artistic aptitude with the necessary artistic and pedagogical as well as other relevant professionally relevant basic skills and competencies required for a successful activity as a full-time musician and teacher in the professional fields of elementary music education as well instrumental pedagogy or vocal pedagogy. The training includes artistic-pedagogical practice EMP, movement, body training, dance, rhythm, percussion, elementary instrumental playing, voice training, speech training, general pedagogy, methodology, didactics of the main subject, ensemble management and more.
