The four-semester study course “Master of Education in Fine Arts” is provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. During the program, the prospective students are able to obtain a corresponding artistic focus while two in-depth courses are attended in the workshops. The scientific study in the master’s course serves to further acquire knowledge and skills in the disciplines of art didactics and art theory. While the course is intended to prepare the students for the work of freelance artists, the teaching course pursues the task of laying comprehensive technical and didactic prerequisites for high school art-pedagogical professional practice. The artistic study takes place in artistic classes and is accompanied by lectures and seminars in art theory and art didactics as well as excursions.
