The two-subject “Bachelor of Arts in French” is with a total length of four semesters and provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. The modularized course of study is divided into various modules that include language acquisition, oral and written communication as well as French linguistics, literary and cultural studies. During the course of study, students must take part in a certain total of compulsory and elective courses while the program deals with the language and literature of France and the French-speaking world and describes the French language in its historical development and as a current language system.
