“Bachelor of Education in Greek” is provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz with a total length of six semesters. The degree program specifically includes a broad spectrum of topics such as poetry, the epic, drama, prose genres of philosophy, historiography, public speech, also state and law, the natural sciences and medicine where the prospective students learn to master the methods in order to successfully convey and also understand textual criticism. During the course, graduates obtain the ability to linguistically understand written and become able to place them in their historical context while acquiring comprehension in five central authors and in the subject areas of literary genres, epochs, philosophy, constitutional law, religion, rhetoric, poetics, mythology, metrics and the history of the effects of antiquity.
