The study course “Bachelor of Education in Italian” is offered by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz with a total length of six semesters. The program prepares for a methodically and theoretically sound analysis of the Italian language and literature in their media and historical references and comprises the sub-areas of linguistic practice, linguistics, literary studies and cultural studies. The aim of the course is to enable independent scientific work and the acquisition of communicative, cultural and media skills as key qualifications for various professional fields. During the practical language sub-area, the focus is on developing the basic skills of reading comprehension, listening comprehension, oral and written communication, as well as strategies for language acquisition, language use and language teaching.
