“Master of Education in Italian” is a study course with a duration of four semesters, and provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. During the program, the focus primarily falls on developing the basic skills of reading comprehension, listening comprehension, oral and written communication, as well as strategies for language acquisition, language use and language teaching while teaching the basics, theories and methods of general, Romance and Italian linguistics. The prospective students explore the language system, varieties and linguistic history of Italian along with reading and interpretation of Italian texts from the Middle Ages to the present day, imparting knowledge of literary history as well as a variety of methodological approaches and theoretical approaches.
