The six-semester degree course “Bachelor of Education in Music” is offered by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. It contains artistic as well as scientific and didactic components while during the artistic training the participants have the opportunity to select an instrument or singing as their main focus of study falls on classical or jazz, rock, pop and acquire the ability to create music independently in individual and group lessons high level. The program also focuses in the areas of music theory listening, training, composition, arrangement and musicology, music history from a historical and systematic point of view along with the competence to deal with the subject of music in a methodically sound and reflective manner.
