The four-semester degree program “Master of Music in Organ Improvisation” is provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. During their study, the prospective students are able to obtain strong knowledge of syntax, harmonization and composition as well as liturgical integration with the technical basics of improvising. The master degree aim is primarily to develop the necessary confident playing technique as well as stylistically adapted ability to interpret including the stylish presentation of suitable organ literature with a broad spectrum of variety of forms, improvisation techniques and styles. Graduates of “Master of Music in Organ Improvisation” will be able to perform church services with regard to organ contributions in an artistically outstanding manner.
