Provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz the program “Master of Arts in Philosophy/Philosophie: Imaginaire et rationalité” is with a duration of four semesters. During their study, the participants obtain key competences such as the ability to analyze, reconstruct, present and discuss abstract theories and systems and to apply these competences to single questions and scientific, societal in interdisciplinary context. The students practice the methodological, logical and interpretative oriented analysis of texts and philosophical problems while the general objective in the field of philosophy is to obtain the ability to deal with philosophical ideas in a scientific manner along with knowledge about historical contexts, increased awareness of problems, expertise in using subject-specific methods as well as the ability to participate both in written and oral discourses.
