With a duration of six semesters the program “Bachelor of Education in Physics” is provided by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. It consists of lectures and seminars in the fields of educational science and subject didactics specifically supplemented by practical demonstration and school internships. By providing a thorough training in both experimental and theoretical physics, the program imparts lectures that build on one another with a broad overview of the main areas of physics and the necessary mathematical and experimental methods. During the physics internships, students practice numerous experiments and the use of measuring devices while throughout the exercises and seminars the students are able to master independent scientific work and train lecture techniques.
