Offered by the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, the study course “Bachelor of Music in Piano” is with a total length of eight semesters. The aim is to provide the students with sufficient artistic aptitude with the necessary artistic, educational and other relevant basic skills and competencies required for successful work as a full-time pianist. The prospective students acquire comprehension in sentence theory, listening training, form and structure analysis, chamber music, ensemble new music and the ability to interpret different repertoire in a stylistically repertoire, knowledge of different concert forms and their possible effects, ability to plan, prepare and perform performances and concert, design situation-appropriate concert programs such as theme concert, conversation concert and more.
